Lex Humanitas reveals where form hides power and replaces meaning.

Meaning.en

When we say something, we want to convey a certain meaning.
But meaning is conveyed not only through words, but also through rhythm, pauses, intonation, order, emphasis, and even breathing.

Words are only a carrier, not meaning itself.
Information, too, does not contain meaning in its entirety.

The same text can have different meanings.

Moreover, meaning is formed not only by what is said, but also by what is not said.
By what was omitted.
By what was passed over.
By what was deliberately left unspoken.

Sometimes the key part of meaning lies precisely here:
— which details were not mentioned
— which conditions were not named
— which boundaries were not identified

Absence is also a signal.
And it, too, participates in the construction of meaning.

Where substitution takes place
When someone says:
“the main thing is information”
they imply:
“the main thing is words”

But this is already a compression:
meaning → reduced to text → text declared sufficient

And that is not so.

Meaning is when a new distinction arises.

Categorization is when distinction is not permitted,
because everything has already been sorted into boxes in advance.

The relationship between meaning and movement is an open question.
Two formulations have been recorded as two open alternatives,
not as a ready-made definition.

Option 1: meaning as directionality.
Meaning is not the transition itself, but establishes a relation
through which one distinction leads to another:

distinction A → meaning → distinction B

Meaning answers the question: why did the movement go in precisely that direction?

Option 2: meaning as movement itself.
The subject draws one distinction, then another, then a third,
and this very movement through distinctions is meaning:

subject → A → B → C

The trajectory A → B → C is meaning.
Meaning answers the question: what is
the subject’s unfolding movement?

Open question: is meaning the movement of the subject itself
through distinctions, or the relation / directionality
that connects distinctions into movement?

Choosing between “meaning is movement” and “meaning directs movement”
changes the architecture of the entire construction, which is why no choice has been made.

A separate thesis, independent of that choice:

Meaning does not copy a ready-made external structure.
