This document stores operations of the subject discovered during analysis but not yet included in the canonical genesis vocabulary.
The presence of an operation here does not mean that it is an independent operation rather than a particular case of an already accepted operation or another operation under investigation.
A candidate cannot automatically be used as an operation value in canonical metadata. First, its distinction from already accepted operations must be established and its semantics defined. Once an operation is accepted, its canonical definition is moved to the operation vocabulary, and the candidate entry is removed from this document.
reification
Preliminary Idea
An operation whereby the result of a distinction, a semantic relation, predication, or another operation of the subject begins to be presented as an independent property, entity, or structure of reality itself.
Open Questions
- Is
reificationan independent operation? - What exactly constitutes its input?
- Does it always imply erasing its origin in the subject?
- How does it differ from
objectification? - Does it apply to function, property, category, and emergence in the same way?
Example
functional relation
→ “objective property of the object”
predication
Preliminary Idea
The operation of applying a predicate to a distinguished form:
X → X has P
Open Questions
- Is
predicationan independent operation or a variety ofmeaning_assignment? - Is every property a result of predication?
- Which arguments are required to describe this operation?
functionalization
Preliminary Idea
An operation in which an action, capacity, or consequence acquires functional significance relative to a particular form, whole, activity, or goal.
Open Questions
- Is
functionalizationan independent operation or a particular case ofmeaning_assignment? - What exactly makes meaning functional?
- Is a goal necessary here, or is significance relative to a form sufficient?
